Lydia joined the Craemill team in 2010 as a Saturday receptionist. Initially Lydia was interested in human nursing, however this quickly changed to veterinary nursing the longer she worked at Craemill. A full time position became available once she had completed all her academic studies and her interest for small animal nursing grew, eventually she was able to attend Greenmount College and completed her veterinary nursing degree in 2019. She is well known in Craemill for her OCD when it comes to cleaning, much to everyone’s delight!
Theatre nursing and wound management cases are her favourite aspects of the job, as it allows practical nursing skills to be put to use and can be positively challenging.
In the future Lydia would love to pursue a small animal surgical nursing certificate which would allow her to perform some surgeries and increase her skills and knowledge in this field.
Outside of work she enjoys looking after her young children, walking and snuggling with her cat Sebastian.
