After qualifying from The University of Liverpool in 2004, Claire worked in mixed practice for 1 year. A developing interest in small animal surgery took her to Liverpool PDSA where she gained extensive experience in both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery from a very high surgical caseload during her 4 years working for the charity.
Keen to develop her surgical skills and experience to a higher level, Claire subsequently completed an internship in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery and Orthopaedics at Northwest Surgeons Referral Hospital in Cheshire, including research into canine cruciate disease and speaking at the British Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress.
Claire joined Craemill Veterinary Clinic in March 2010. In addition to her role as senior small animal vet, she is also a clinical coach for student veterinary nurses enrolled on the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and regularly does educational school talks on pet care and life as a vet.
Claire has completed the AO Foundation Principles & Advances in Small Animal Fracture Management extending her speciality in orthopaedics and has also been awarded the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with specialist interests in small animal soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics and dermatology.
